The Social War. Coinage of the Marsic Confederation, 90-88 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19mm, 4.08 g 4), mint moving in Campania, 88. Helmeted and draped bust of Minerva to right, wearing aegis; to left, Victory standing right, crowning Minerva. Rev. ΙΙΙΛ Two warriors walking toward each other and clasping their right hands; the one on the left carries a long standard and the one on the right is disembarking from a galley, the forepart of which is on the right. Burnett 14. Campana 181a (this coin). HN III 416. RBW 1221. Sydenham 632a. Very rare and well struck on a broad flan. Nicely toned. About extremely fine / good very fine.
