SICILY, Gela. Circa 480/75-475/70 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 18mm, 8.78 g 2). Rider galloping to right, bearded and nude but for high helmet, hurling spear with his raised right hand. Rev. CΕΛΑΣ Forepart of man-headed bull to right. Jenkins, Gela 86.6 (this coin). An attractively toned coin of lovely style. Obverse struck from a worn die and unimportant die break on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
