KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33mm, 16.78 g 12), Alabanda, year 6 = 168/7 BC. Head of Herakles in lion skin headdress to right. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on backless throne, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, pegasos flying to left; under throne, Ϛ (= 6). Price 2466 (same obverse die). An attractive piece stuck on a broad flan. Extremely fine.
