BRITISH 18th CENTURY TOKENS, Robert Biddulph, Copper Penny, 1796, obv bull facing left, JUNE 3D. 1796 above, J MILTON F in exergue, rev apple tree and a plough within an oaken wreath, long handles on plough, the lower handle touches the wreath, edge plain (Conder p.45, 2; Pye p.22, 9; Atkins p.45, 2; D&H Herefordshire 2). Struck from a late state of the obverse die, patinated, otherwise essentially as made and bronzed.
