BRITISH 18th CENTURY TOKENS, Birmingham Mining & Copper Co., Copper Halfpenny, 1792, obv female seated upon a rock holding a fasces, BIRMINGHAM MINING AND COPPER COMPANY around, 1792 in exergue, the point of the laurel wreath is nearly under the first limb of the A of AND, the right-hand corner of the fasces aligns with the second limb of the N of AND, no stop after COMPANY, the upper right limb of the Y does not touch the foot, large numbers in date, rev stork upon a cornucopia, HALFPENNY PAYABLE AT around, the head of the stork to the centre of the space between the Y of HALFPENNY and the P of PAYABLE, the trailing leg of the stork is at an angle, the tail of the cornucopia between the B and L of PAYABLE, the two centre leaves either side of the first limb of the H of HALFPENNY, edge BIRMINGHAM REDRUTH & SWANSEA (D&H Warwickshire 98). A few spots, otherwise good extremely fine and retaining much original colour, very rare.
