Iron Knife with Wooden Handle. Low Countries, XV-XVI Century AD. Iron blade of wide rounded form with lozenge as maker’s mark’ handle of square cross-section. Type of knife found in paintings of Bosch and Breughel. Blade missing tip, usual rust patina, handle missing ferrule, otherwise intact and choice for iron.
