Aethelred II (978-1016), Penny, 1.61g, Long cross type, Cambridge, Edwine, bare headed bust left of peculiar style, reads aeÐelrde, rev, +edpine: mo gran, voided long cross each arm terminating in three crescents (KAJ Pl.I, No.15; N.774; S.1151), some delamination on and around king's face, also on reverse cross arm, otherwise in good order, high quality silver and struck on a large flan, well struck and nearly extremely fine.
