Henry VIII (1509-47), Groat, 2.73g, First coinage, 1509-26, Tournai, m.m. crowned T, crowned profile bust right, rev. civitas tornacen, shield over long cross fourchée (Stewartby p.437; N.-; S.2317), a field find with associated scrapes, once straightened, crescent-shaped metal flaw at 12 o'clock on reverse and slight loss of flan at 3 o'clock, deep tone, the Tournai mint signature and mintmarks all legible on this, very fine, rare.
