Edward VI (1547-53), Coinage in the name of Henry VIII, Half-sovereign, 5.89g, 1547-51, Tower, m.m. arrow, youthful king, crowned, seated facing on throne holding sceptre to left and orb to right, rose below, lozenge stops, Roman lettering, rev. crowned shield with supporters, hr monogram in cartouche, (N.1865; S.2391), striking split near 2 o'clock and with dispersed light double-striking, weakness in centres as usual but some pleasing detail to portrait, a good sized flan and for this poorly struck issue generally very fine.
With ticket stating; 'Blair 12 Oct 59'. There is no recorded sale on this date nor has the cataloguer been able to trace the collector.
