Sasanian Empire, Varhran II (AD 276-293), AR Drachm, 4.16g, draped bust right, wearing winged crown surmounted by korymbos, conjoined with bust of queen right, wearing headdress ending in boar's head, facing bust of their son (Narseh) wearing headdress ending in eagle's head, rev. fire-altar with two attendants either side facing outwards, symbol of diadem to left of flames (cf. SNS 14ff), extremely fine.
