Gold "oro corriente" cut piece with choice full "f" stamp for Ferdinand V of Spain, 29.46 grams, from an unidentified early 1500s wreck in the Caribbean. 1-1/4" x 1" x 3/16". Very clear "f" stamp in incuse box with what appear to be parts of other stamps (unreadable) around it (including a possible "C" stamp for Charles I), with dark encrustation in crevices, the edges mostly crude and sharply cut in two places, very interesting and compact (about the weight of an 8 escudos). From an unidentified early 1500s wreck in the Caribbean.
Estimate: $3500
