ALBANIA. 2 Franga Ari, 1926-R. Rome Mint. NGC MS-65.
KM-7. Seed sower striding right, perched eagle staring downward on the reverse. Another Romagnoli designed masterpiece from the Rome mint inspired by ancient coinage of the Hellenistic period. Transparent medium lavender and apricot toning on the obverse, with a peculiar doughnut shaped ring within the tone on the reverse. According to Ken Krah at NGC, this trait seen on silver coinage from the Rome mint in the first half of the 20th century, is caused by the manner in which the planchets were prepared prior to striking. An all around terrific example of this in-demand type and with a very special pedigree. NGC MS-65.

Ex: John J. Pittman Collection.

Estimate: $700.00- $1000.00
