FRANCE. 100 Franc, 1855-BB. Strasbourg Mint. PCGS MS-62 Secure Holder.
Fr-570; KM-786.2; Gad-1135. From early in the reign of Louis Napoleon, 1855 saw the end of the "Waterloo Coalition" as France and Britain fought side by side in the Crimean War ending half a century of French containment in the years after Napoleon Bonaparte. After a visit to London in April of 1855 by Napoleon III, a reciprocal visit was made to Paris by Queen Victoria, the first British monarch to set foot in Paris in many centuries. One of just three examples at this grade with only two coins a single point finer (MS-63) at PCGS and NGC. First year of issue for the type with a minuscule mintage of 4,173 coins. Highly reflective fields and choice mark-free legends and devices that are bright and frosty. A desirable coin on many levels, and one worthy of serious consideration. PCGS MS-62 Secure Holder.
Estimate: $2000.00- $2500.00
