FRANCE. Napoleonic Era Medals, ca. 1789-1815. VERY FINE-ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
Approximately 49 pieces in lot. Featuring medals struck in lead, bronze, gilt-bronze and silver ranging in size from tiny 14.9 mm medalettes celebrating the birth of Napoleon II to a 67.64 mm recast medal for the Bank of France. The majority of pieces are bronze medals featuring a laureate bust of Napoleon I commemorating battles, political alliances, personages, mint visits, various societies and events. A strong and varied assemblage with many eclectic pieces to interest scholars of the period as well as those of Napoleon in particular. While some pieces show signs of handling including rim bumps, contact marks or old lacquering many are very nice examples with old envelope toning and choice surfaces. Will reward closer inspection. Retail value of about $3,000. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. VERY FINE-ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.

Estimate: $1500.00- $1800.00
