Struck the year of the Treaty of Roskilde (an abortive attempt to end the Seven Years War) between Sweden and an alliance of western Scandinavian countries including Norway, Denmark along with the German city-state of Lubeck. Attractive deep tone with gunmetal blue showing in the fields. Nicely struck with loads of detail in the portrait. Finding choice original Talers from this era is a difficult assignment, the piece offered here exceeds the requirements on many levels. NGC AU-53.
