GREAT BRITAIN. Crown, 1662. Charles II (1660-85). NGC VF-35.
S-3353; ESC-19; cf.KM-422.1. Re-arranged legend with "II" to right of portrait, and a better type according to Spink. Struck the year Charles II married Catherine of Braganza in both a public Angelican ceremony as well as a secret Catholic ceremony. It is difficult to locate early milled coinage from England that is this nice and totally problem-free. A very minor rim tap at 9 o'clock on the reverse is the only anomaly worthy of mention, with the balance of the coin sporting fully original surfaces and generous amounts of detail for the assigned grade. NGC VF-35.
Estimate: $600.00- $800.00
