GREAT BRITAIN. Farthing, 1684. Charles II (1660-85). PCGS Genuine--Edge Damage, AU Details Secure Holder.
S-3395; KM-436.2. Struck in tin with a center copper plug used as an anode to prevent corrosion. Krause lists a catalog value of $3,600 in EXTREMELY FINE with no higher grade listed. Very high tech for its day, and what's more it actually worked, with the predominantly tin flan showing little in the way of corrosion. A single small hack to the edge at 3 o'clock on the obverse landed the coin in a net-grade holder, but all things considered still a very desirable coin given its resplendent state of surface preservation. PCGS Genuine--Edge Damage, AU Details Secure Holder.
Estimate: $500.00- $700.00
