S-3873; Fr-395; KM-786. Far less frequently encountered than the Jubilee Head Double-Sovereign that proceeded it, or the Edward VII Double-Sovereign struck the following decade. A single year issue with a mintage of 52,000 coins, the Veiled Head example offered here has attractive overall luster with scattered marks in the fields consistent with the grade. NGC MS-61.
