GREAT BRITAIN. 5 Pounds, 2002. GEM BRILLIANT PROOF.
Eimer-2204. Struck on the occasion of Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee. Unlisted in both Krause and Bruce, and unlisted in Eimer in gold, the Certificate of Authenticity leaves little doubt the piece is actually a coin struck in medal rotation (as are all British coin issues) though many collectors treat it as a medal. In any case, struck to the same specifications as any other British gold 5 Pound piece, the coin offered here is a real gem, and is housed in a plush purple velvet case of issue. Attractive design with Elizabeth II mounted on horseback on the reverse. Authorized mintage of 5,500 pieces, it is highly doubtful that many were ever sold, the numbered certificate indicates it was the 1296th example struck. GEM BRILLIANT PROOF.
Estimate: $1300.00- $1500.00
