MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1607/GRATIA-MoF. Philip III (1598-1621). NGC VF-20.
27 gms. Cal-type-49#97; KM-44.3; Calb-620. A reasonably round example of this highly sought after early cob coinage, the first year these were dated. Date is clearly visible. It is interesting to note that all 1607 coinage of Mexico was manufactured from recut dies of the undated type. Consequently, all 1607 coinage of Mexico is 1607 over "GRATIA". Evenly toned and without ever having seen seawater. Nice. NGC VF-20.
