MEXICO. 4 Escudos, 1757-MM. Ferdinand VI (1746-59). NGC EF-45.
Fr-22; Cal-type-36#114; KM-139. One of two at this numerical grade, with one finer (55) at NGC, and none graded at PCGS. Two year issue with a slightly more formal looking portrait than those struck earlier in his reign. Reverse type with mint mark and assayer initials in legend. A truly phenomenal piece sporting orange mirrored protected areas in the obverse legends and a terrific portrait that leaves no detail to the imagination. The same traits are readily evident on the reverse, with elaborate crown detail all crisply preserved. Perhaps a good candidate for resubmission for those so inclined, and a RARE highly desirable piece regardless of assigned grade. NGC EF-45.

From the David O'Harrow Collection.

Estimate: $3000.00- $4000.00
