MEXICO. Empire of Iturbide. 4 Escudos, 1823-MoJM NGC EF Details--Excessive Surface Hairlines.
Fr-61; KM-312. Unlike the larger 8 Escudos which was struck for two years using two different die designs, the 4 Escudo was only struck in 1823, and with Iturbide being deposed in March of that same year, one can rightfully surmise the type is RARE in any condition. Light surface hairlines can not conceal the over-riding desirability of this coin, with sharp legends containing traces of original mint luster in the protected areas, and decent overall surface color. One of the nicer surviving examples regardless of the details-grade assessment. NGC EF Details--Excessive Surface Hairlines.

Estimate: $2000.00- $2500.00
