MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1846-GCMP. NGC MS-61.
KM-377.7; DP-GC03. Round cap/round eagle's tail variety. Aside from the Estado de Mexico and Real de Catorce issues, easily the most elusive mint to locate 8 Reale coins from, though some of the smaller denominations are available. Located high in the mountains of southern Chihuahua with a population today of only 4,413 denizens, it's a wonder any coins were ever struck there. That all aside, the coin offered is remarkable for a number of attributes, most notably its terrific luster. Struck from lightly corroded dies on a high quality planchet, the example here is one sure to please its new owner. NGC MS-61.

Estimate: $1500.00- $2000.00
