PHILIPPINES. Japanese Occupation. Bronze Tirad Pass Medal, 1944. EXTREMELY FINE.
43.5 mm; 32.03 gms. Basso-168. Without loop. VERY RARE. Wreathed portrait of General Gregorio Del Pilar with Tirad Pass in the background. Lower uniform "J.P.L./ 1944". The only military medal or decoration issued by the Filipino government during the Japanese occupation. Contemporary accounts suggest only 16 of these were issued, all but one posthumously. EXTREMELY FINE.
