Dav-1624; KM-32. Peruked head right of Peter Biron, last duke of Courland and Semigallia, son of Ernst Johann Biron who was chief advisor and lover of Tsarina Anna of Russia. (Peter Biron ceded Courland to Russia in 1795.) Reverse, conjoined oval Arms of Poland and Lithuania, wreath-draped and framed, crown above. Last silver coin issued by Courland, and exceptionally nice for the type with even tone and exacting detail all through the facial areas of the portrait. A coin that is sure to become a welcome addition to the collection of the winning bidder. NGC AU-53.
