SWITZERLAND. Partial Set of Swiss Medalist Jean Dassier's 60 Piece Series of Small Medals Recording the History of Rome, ND (ca. 1743). EXTREMELY FINE.
46 pieces in lot. Produced in 1743, the medals honored major events in Roman history as well as notable personages of the Republic and Empire. Most are signed "J. DASSIER ET FILS", "J.D." or "JD ET FILS", but many are not signed. All are bronze and about 30 mm. Well-matched uniform mahogany bronze finish. Retail value of approximately $1,500. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. Average condition EXTREMELY FINE.
