33 pieces in lot. About half Mexican issues with several better pieces including an Oaxaca Axe-Head pre-Columbian piece measuring 42 mm long. Also a sharp looking CHOICE VERY FINE Carlos and Johanna (Late Series) 1 Real, Assayer L (M-L) from 1552 or 1553 (Cal-type-104#145) a coin that by itself makes this lot worthy of a solid bid. Other Mexican issues span the gamut from early to mid 18th century and include nearly every silver denomination struck with several crown size 8 Reales among the coins. Also an Iturbide 1/2 Real in problem-free FINE. The balance of the lot has representative coins from several South American countries including Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. A few Central American coins round-out the lot, including a crown-size Balboa from Panama. Approximate retail price of $900 with much of the value concentrated in about a half-dozen of the coins.
