S-422. Crowned and cuirassed bust facing, holding globus cruciger and shield; Reverse: Cross potent on four steps. Struck at a time when the Byzantine Empire was defending itself from both Lombard incursions in the west, and the annexation of Armenian provinces in the east by the Sassanian Emperor Khosrau I. A remarkably clear and expressive portrait, a real collection enhancing specimen worthy of a solid bid. NGC MS, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 3/5.
