MEXICO. Real de Catorce Scrip Notes.
Real de Catorce is an important former mine town with some of Mexico's richest silver mines and a mint. Its heyday was in the 19th century and now it is a virtual ghost town with tourism being the main attraction. Coins from Real de Catorce are available, but this is the first time items of paper have been seen. This lot includes two receipts for minerals, most likely silver. Two payments made to individuals for services, and one that looks like money for a person to receive medical treatment.
Estimate: $700.00- $1000.00
