70.07 mm; 125.56 gms. By Josue Dupon. Standing robed woman places wreath upon body of fallen Belgian soldier lying in state holding broken sword; Reverse: Pegasus rider carries draped body of soldier toward the heavens with radiant sun above and damaged buildings in distance. "J. FONSON" stamped on lower edge. Very few contact marks throughout, handling only evident on the highest points of relief with some bronze peeking through at a few points. Medium gray toning over the surfaces compliments the somber feeling of the medal. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
