FRANCE. Conquest of Egypt Bronze Medal, 1798. EXTREMELY FINE.
40.34 mm; 41.50 gms. CGIEMP-Vol 2, pg. 26 D; Hennin-879. By Jouannin, Dennon and Brenet. Bust of Napoleon three quarters left with crown of lotus flowers above; Reverse: Draped laureate Napoleon standing in triumphal chariot being drawn by two camels, Victory crowning him above, at left are Pompey's Pillar and Cleopatra's Needle. Deep glossy dark chocolate toning throughout. The only wear visible is at the tip of the busts nose which is in very high relief, some dark spots and surface residue but free of contact marks and signs of handling. EXTREMELY FINE.
