34.45 mm; 19.78 gms. By Jacques France. Made from metal recovered from the ruins of Tuileries Palace which was destroyed by fire and explosives in 1871 and was demolished in 1883. Bust of Marianne wearing Phrygian cap right; Reverse: Seven line inscription giving the building and destruction dates of Tuileries Palace and telling that this metal was found in its ruins, below is serial number 349 on a small raised plaque. About half the diameter of other medals observed of this type. With small bronze filigree hanger on loop at 12 o'clock. With only mild chatter in fields and a few trivial contact marks at rim. EXTREMELY FINE.
