Struck in 0.750 fine gold. St Elijah, patron saint of high places medalette. Depicts St. Elijah wielding a flaming sword, with "SANCTE ELIA ORA PRO ME" in the legends, translating as "Saint Elijah Pray for Me". Reverse legend: "SIC ITUR AD ASTRA" translating as "And Thus to the Stars". Reverse depicts a pair of biplanes, a zeppelin or dirigible and a hot air balloon. Signed "TAIRAC" with a French eagle's head hallmark on suspension loop. CHOICE VERY FINE.
