GERMANY. Osnabruck. 12 Mariengroschen (1/3 Taler), 1670. Ernst August, Herzog von Braunschweig (1662-98). PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder.
KM-130. A coin type that would have circulated far and wide given Osnabruck's membership in the Hanseatic League. The only example seen at the grading services, and the last year of issue for the type. Krause lists nothing higher than Extremely-Fine at $550; ours is considerably nicer. Fully struck with light tone throwing off multiple colors, especially through the obverse legends. Clear evidence of the piece having been overstruck on a previously issued coin of a different type. A terrific addition for any collection from this northern city state. PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder.
