GERMANY. Prussia. Return of the Royal Couple to Berlin Silver Medal, 1809. CHOICE ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
36.33 mm; 17.37 gms. By D. F. Loos and A. Hoffmann. Conjoined busts of Friedrich Wilhelm III and Luise Auguste Wilhelmine Amalie right; Reverse: Draped and crowned personification of Berlin standing facing left sacrificing over fire altar, what can forgivingly be described as a lion resting on the ground behind her. Possibly a slightly later made restrike as this piece is on a slightly larger and heavier module planchet than is normally seen and some mild die rust can be observed on the obverse busts. Nevertheless the surfaces are graced with nice old cabinet toning with cobalt and plum hues at the periphery and a light maroon over the flashing lustrous fields. Small light scuff before busts. CHOICE ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
