62.1 mm. Eimer-1112; BHM-989. Struck in white metal. Scene of cavalry soldiers cutting down men women and children after their demonstration for improved working conditions. Reverse with inscription "THE WICKED HAVE DRAWN OUT THE SWORD / THEY HAVE CUT DOWN / THE POOR AND NEEDY / AND SUCH AS BE OF / UPRIGHT CONVERSATION". The attack is often referred to as "Peterloo" since it occurred in St. Peter's Fields near Manchester. A lustrous example. EXTREMELY FINE.
