MEXICO. 4 Reales, 1772-FM. Charles III (1760-88). NGC VF-25.
KM-97.1; Cal-type-122#1133. Two-year only type with the mint mark and assayers letter inverted, and one of the better dates from the entire reign of Charles III. NGC has a population listed of three in VERY FINE with none finer; so far PCGS has never seen the date. While there is little difference in Krause catalog values, Calico has the date at nearly three times the value of common date issues from his 28-year reign. Choice for the grade with even color and no major marks or distractions. A seldom encountered coin by any measure and sure to be a welcome addition to the collection it joins. NGC VF-25.
