In A.D. 197, Septimius Severus returned to the Parthian front to reclaim lost territory, then invading Parthia itself, easily dispatching the Parthians at Ctesiphon. Severus marched into Rome in A.D. 202, with his then 14 year old son Caracalla, to celebrate their victory.
