SICILY, Syracuse. Second Democracy. 466-405 BC. AR Tetradrachm (24.5mm, 17.29 g, 7h). Struck circa 450 BC. Charioteer, holding kentron in right hand, reins in left, driving slow quadriga right; above, Nike flying right, crowning horses with open wreath held in both hands; in exergue, ketos right / Head of Arethusa right, hair in thin band, wearing single-pendant earring and necklace; four dolphins around. Boehringer Series XV, 508 (V268/R360); HGC 2, 1311; SNG ANS 161 (same dies); BMC 81 (same dies); Jameson 764 (same dies). VF, toned, minor die flaw on reverse.
