EARLY SKYTHIANS. Anonymous. Late 2nd-early 1st century BC. AR Tetradrachm (34mm, 14.91 g, 12h). Imitating a Tetradrachm of Baktria, possibly of Menander I. Diademed and draped bust right, wearing helmet adorned with pelt / [...]IEEE to left, IΛ+EΛEΣ to right, Athena Alkidemos left; trace of possible monogram to inner right. Cf. Senior 19 (for imitative Eukratidies types); cf. HGC 12, 150 (same); cf. MACW 1863-5; otherwise, unpublished. VF, some find patina, deposits, and porosity.
