Testbanknoten: Europe: Test Note presented by Fabriano Securities (Italy) which is made of a special type of hybrid substrate called "FUSION". The interesting thing about this note is that it is said to be developed for the European Central Bank for testing new substrates for the EURO II banknote series. That is why the note was printed with the typical printing plates that the ECB already used for EURO I testing series, in red color with portrait of "Rasmussen" at right, intaglio printed with color security strip (imprint "FABRIANO") at center and a female watermark at left which might already show the plans of the ECB to put "EUROPA" on the ES2 series. There are different printing styles on the note which were also used on the current EURO banknotes for testing the possibility to print on FUSION. This test note disappeared also in the industry because the use of FUSION for Euro banknotes was rejected. Only a few of these examples survived. A rare item. Condition: UNC.
