KINGS of LYDIA. Alyattes II, and perhaps slightly later, circa 610-546 BC. Trite (Electrum, 12mm, 4.71 g), Sardes. Head of roaring lion right, sun with multiple rays on forehead. Rev. Two incuse squares. SNG Kayhan 1013. SNG von Aulock 2868-2869. Weidauer Group XVI, 86-89. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die, and with an uncertain countermark on the obverse and an elegant one on the edge otherwise, good very fine.
