Domitian (81-96), Dupondius, Rome, AD 86; AE (g 15,54; mm 30; h 6); IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XII CENS PER P P, radiate bust r., wearing aegis, Rv. FORTVNAE - AVGVSTI, Fortuna standing l., holding rudder and cornucopiae; in field, S - C. RIC I 326a = II 479; C 123.
Large flan, well centered specimen, dark green patina, about extremely fine.

Restoration and cleaning report: this dupondius came to my attention with a green patina which showed morphological characteristics and crystallization due to re-patination. Under stereoscopic magnification (100X) was mechanically removed this layer, showing the original surface of the coin.
I believe that this accurate cleaning operation returned the coin to its delicate and refined definition.
