A Black Serpentine Hittite Stamp Seal. A nice black serpentine Hittite stamp seal, late 3rd - early 2nd Millennium BC, the back high gabled with rounded top, a raised birds head at one end above the suspension hole. On base, a quadruped within a linear border. 24 x 19 x 13mm. Drilled lengthwise for suspension. Cf. Hogarth, pl. V, nos. 115 - 118 for similar types; Ex J. L. Malter collection. Rare! Est.
