Legend around "Turnerkreuz" within quadratic plaque; in fields around, oak branches. On edge: BAYER. HAUPTMÜNZAMT FEINSILBER.

The "Turnerkreuz" is the logo of the German Turner movement of the 19th century and is still used by the Deutscher Turner-Bund (DTB), the umbrella organisation of the german gymnastics societies. It consists of four large F, standing for the motto "Frisch, fromm, fröhlich, frei", arranged in a cross-shaped form.
