South Africa 1879-J. W. Irwin's Cape Town (Cape Province) bronze halfpenny token dated 1879. Obverse: Legend on three lines, the top and bottom curved: "J. W. IRWIN * TEA MERCHANT & GROCER * CAPE TOWN". Reverse: Coat of Arms of Cape Colony with legend: "CAPE OF GOOD HOPE 1879". Plain edge. These were redeemable at the company's warehouse on Bree and Waterkant Streets.Almost Extremely Fine.
