Augustus AR Denarius. Lugdunum, AD 13-14. CAESAR AVGVSTVS DIVI F PATER PATRIAE, laureate head right / PONTIF MAXIM, draped female figure seated right on curule chair, holding sceptre and branch. RIC 220; BMC 545. 3.64g, 18mm, 11h.
Very Fine. Very Rare - this reverse type became the dominant design found on the silver of Tiberius, but examples with the obverse of Augustus are very hard to come by.
