Celtic, Dobunni, Bodvoc, (c.25-5 BC), gold Stater, 5.46g, 'Bold' type, bodvoc in heavy letters across central field curved lines parallel lines in field, rev. horse right, ring pellets and crescent above, wheel below, small quatrefoils around horse (ABC 2039 var.; VA 1052-1 var.; S.388 var.), obverse die in a dilapidated state, a couple of flan splits on this, obverse very pleasing, well rounded flan, good fine/nearly extremely fine, rare. The small quatrefoils on the reverse were produced using four separate blows of a triangular punch. This is unlike anything seen on other dies of this type.
