Celtic, East Wiltshire, uninscribed coinage, (c.50-20 BC), gold Stater, 5.14g, 'Savernake Forest' type, highly dilapidated die of crossed wreaths, rev. horse right of distinctive style, solar wheel above, large wheel below, dispersed ring-pellets in field (ABC 2091; VA 1522-5; S.37), flan split and surface cracks from striking on obverse, pleasing reverse with underlying lustre, a good strike, nearly extremely fine, rare.
