Celtic, Belgae, uninscribed coinage, (c.60-20 BC), gold Stater, 4.36g, 'Cheriton Smiler' type, wreath with three corded lines intersecting, the central line terminating in a crescent shape with voided crescents in recesses, below this a series of parallel lines fanning out with a pair of annulets to one end, rev. disjointed horse left, a series of pellets above, below, and before, [eye behind] (ABC 755; VA 1215-1; S.24), general weakness, some metal degradation evident, even tone, very fine, rare.
